Do you have any old TVRO mounts in your area? They make good tracking mounts.
Or, you could make your own. YouTube - Solar Tracker This site has some interesting pics of tracker designs. Client references | Photovoltaic power solar systems Poulek Solar Ltd. If I made a tracker like this, I would make the rear legs (Bipod?) so they could telescope, for the seasonal angle changes.. Of course, this is my fav!! Heeheh! The sun is out today!! At last!! |

I think I am better off to build a patio cover for my other deck.. then mount the solar panels. I can add more panel later too.. I still can take advantage of the fed and state rebate.

Picked my 3 panels from this factory (3for900) can't beat it...... They made wire management type conduit. They have 464 200w panels on their roof. About 10 sunnyboy 8000w inverters. The people there are SUPER NICE... gave me a tour of their whole solar setup.. They did the install themselves... quite impressive

Haha! It looks like they used a lot of their own 'wire management' stuff on the install..
Dang! $1.5 per watt isn't too shabby.. Where is this factory anyways?? Wow, just found it on Google.. That's a LOT of panels!! That's a pretty green company.. You should go back for more, while the gettins good.. |

Wow!
I just won two of them for $300 each! With shipping, that's a $1.60 a watt!!
Anyone looking to buy some nice 200W panels. Might want to make these guys an offer. Now, I've got to determine IF these big mommas will fit on my tracker.. I'm sitting here smiling from ear-to-ear! |

How much is shipping?
Nevermind. I see they have a calculator on the ebay page. ~$62 for two panels for me.

To my house, it was pretty cheap.. $20.36 each
Shipping and handling $40.72 USD Insurance - not offered ---- Total $640.72 USD Payment $640.72 USD 640.72 for 400w = 1.6018 bucks per watt.. This is a dang good price compared to my purchase of (4) 125 watt panels for $300 each.. ($2.40 per watt). IMHO, in 2010, you aren't going to find a better price for this type of panel.. Next year, if the USD keeps dropping? Who knows? If I could use the roof, I would be buying 10 or 12 of these, TODAY! Cheers, Rich |
