I like how the Washington Posts acts like its so hard to believe conservatives like solar.
We like solar panels on peoples homes. But its not all rainbows and unicorn farts. We do not like multibillion dollar, under producing, bird incinerating government projects built with other peoples money. I live in Alabama, where if you aren't on Alabama Power, but are on TVA power, you can get a decent return on a grid tied system IF your local utility is willing to participate.
OTOH, if you ARE connected through Alabama Power Company, you can always move. They offer approximately avoided cost rates and you can bet they have a ratcheting meter on your connection unless you get a grid tied system approved by them. We are far from Progressive down here in the Heart of Dixie. |
