glad to be here
forum has interesting threads, I am retired and have time to innovate and play. recently intalled pv system. makes one think. recent epifhanay that it more cost effective to use power that to sell. $.10 buying, $.07 selling, which cocludes avoiding selling is $.10 cost avoided. How do I keep things off until there is sufficent pv power?
I am piling up parts to build a wood gassifier, modified several free parts already. will make gas to run a generator. It will be carbon negative, keep me active, and make some money or avoid buying electricy. Wind power in the furure? more than just sailing anyway. |

Welcome aboard!
Since it's almost always sunny during the day down there DITHOT, (At least it's pretty sunny in South Texas).. A timer is the low cost way to keep 120vac loads off-line, until the sun is on your PV.. http://ecorenovator.org/forum/sale-t...html#post25280 I have two of these running right now. Once you learn how to program them, they're very easy to use. I've been thinking about trying one on my new hotwater heater.. It's a medium wattage 120vac ASHP, and my little solar back-up system can run it just fine during sunshine days. If you have an old style electric hot water heater, you can get a timer for that one too.. http://ecorenovator.org/forum/conser....html#post7946
