Default How to fix a leaky faucet

A leaky faucet can dribble out a fair amount of water over the course of time. So, take a few minutes and figure out how to fix that leaking faucet.

Question Looking for a better faucet

Dripple? I kid, I kid!

My question is - What brands/models of kitchen and bathroom sink faucets are more reliable and less likely to drip?

I've replaced, re-bushed and re-o-ringed plenty of faucet and shower valve bodies since I've been a homeowner. Frankly, many of the faucets and valves seem cheaply made. And the faucets I've seen at the hardware store either look as (or more) cheaply made - OR - they are quite expensive.

I could be convinced to buy a more expensive faucet IF I was confident that it was well designed and well made. I know that all mechanical devices wear out eventually, so I'd like to know that repairing/maintaining the faucet and valve won't be ridiculously difficult or the parts very expensive or hard to find.

That's all I ask. So, did I just open up a can of worms here?

Thanks,
Tim

Haha, fixed.

I'm not sure about the quality issue. I've never really had a problem with faucets...

Mostly it's an annoyance. I'm not fixing faucets or shower valves very often, about one every 1-2 years and that's spread over two houses. I'm even getting better at it.

I wonder if the problem is the overall quality of the faucets and valves or just their age. Maybe I'm just dealing with a bunch of old-ish faucets?
