Just a well thought out house
Found this on builditsolar today. This is basically more or less what I would like to do. Just get some solar hot water and combine it with a super insulated house for really good efficiency. Pretty simple, pretty cheap, amazing results.

That's pretty sweet. I'd like to rip down my house and build that one instead. Only thing I'd do differently is spray foam the basement walls and put a one inch rigid foam insulated floor in. And of course make it a bungalow or bi-level.
