Wow, the parking lot is bright!

I'm jealous of the C -- very nice.

It was a good day for the solar panels.. But not so good for old men who should have used sun screen, instead of long sleeves..

Anyways, I drove back from the dealership.. So it was only fair that Cynthia got to drive a few miles..

I was trying to give her some hypermiling tips, but she wasn't doing to well.
She just loves those jackrabbit starts and hitting those brakes..
But, in cases where we were going down a hill. Braking helped! (Regen).

Anyways, it was slow in downtown Lexington. We went up north and came
back home on the Middlesex pike. It was only 12.8 miles, so I didn't expect too much.
Once she gets a few hundred miles on, she should get some great MPGs.. (I hope).

That clock was way off, we got back at 19:30 (And it's May not April)..

I guess it was slow! Over half the trip was on battery power??

Very nice! 68mpg on the maiden voyage is very respectable. The EV mode on the Prius comes from the gasoline, obviously, because there is no plug.

Since the EV Only range is only 1.25 miles, I guess the regen down hills and when braking
helps the ICE quickly recharge the pack, as it's propelling the car..
Otherwise we wouldn't be seeing 59% EV on a 12.8 mile trip..

This display http://images.thetruthaboutcars.com/...2/IMG_6451.jpg
is very interesting to watch, since you can see the arrows changing direction,
Into and Out of the battery while driving on almost flat roads.
It almost seems like the blended mode has the ICE coming on and running
for just a few seconds, when it's needed..
It's odd to see, but it works great..

We had to visit Somerville this morning.. What a bummer! Wall-to-wall cars, buses and trucks!
Absolutely the worse place in the world to try for some MPGs..
I was only concentrating on staying alive! Forgetting all about Hypermiles! (We did have the ECO mode ON).

But, I was totally amazed at how much EV we were getting.. Even up some of the hills!
Best of all, when we were heading home, I had the power flow display up,
and saw the ICE was Off, while driving 40 MPH! ME LIKEY!!

I found out today, it will do almost 46 MPH in EV mode.. Sweet!!

As you can see, our trip average was 20 MPH.. 20 miles in one hour.
That's like Woburn when it gets close to Christmas time..
