We have a Bosch as well. The wife and I are both happy with it. I happen to like the little red LED pointing at the floor.

It's very quiet, so much so that once I walked over and opened the door to put a dirty glass in it. I closed it quickly because it was still running when I opened the door {the door opening turned it off, so only a little water spilled}.

Interesting how many of you buy used HVAC equipment and modify it to save money but buy brand new high $$$ appliances. HVAC equipment I buy new, it's uses FAR more energy than all of our applainces combined. Appliances I buy some new. some used, depending on the deal I can get. I never pay retail for appliances, I buy discountinued, sale, scratch/dent models.

That all being said our dishwasher is 16yrs old and has never needed any repairs. I know it's living on borrowed time and I'm keeping an eye out for a newer model. The main advantage to the newer models is QUIET compared to the older stuff.

Look at the energy guide in the thread, we're talking less than $2/mo between the most and least efficient models. Spending hundreds extra upfront to save $2/mo simply doesn't make sense from payback prospective. The $2 is with an ELECTRIC water heater, with NG it's going to be less than $1/mo difference.

Many of us don't like the idea of buying something brand new only to hack it up and lose the warranty on the first day, especially on something rather expensive. Also, a surplus VFD driving a surplus 3 phase condensing unit can be very efficient indeed, at a fraction of the cost of buying one with the variable speed feature already installed. (Though the inverter mini splits have made a premade solution much more affordable nowadays.)

We wait to get it on a really good sale.
We do not change out because of color or we just want a new one.

As long as it is dependable we will keep this dishwasher 15+ years. It is worth it to me to research and get a dependable one with a good reviews with the options we want. I am also trying to get all energy star items. Everything helps trying to Net Zero out for the year.

This one just heats water for the drying cycle my old one used a heating element I am sure this is part of the energy savings.
