Default Green Food Packaging

Sometimes I get too lazy to wash dishes so I just get some banana leaves from the trees in the front and use them as plates.

People here have been using them for centuries and it's literally green. You can also use it to wrap the food while grilling..there replacing aluminum foil...and after eating, just dump it in the compost together with the leftovers.

Is there any equivalent of a banana leaf that is available in temperate climates?

Here are some other food wrapped in leaf packaging...even the rope/string is made from natural fibers...

A newspaper
In my area the leaves don't grow big enough to serve as a plate and/or packaging. And the leaves we have are only around for 6 months or less

Nope, we just wash the dishes.
I use a plastic bucket to haul food in from the garden and use cloth bags to haul the glass mason jars home that we filled at the store.

Ah yes, gotta love using newspaper to wrap fresh cut meat from ze butcher...and for fish and chips too

Oh and how could I forget, the flavors of dimsum are better when cooked in a bamboo steamer...the wood absorbs the moisture so the dishes don't get that soggy and it looks much more aesthetically appealing

and yeah, all these pics are making me hungry
