I keep trying to do the occasional energy upgrade, but my wife is not too happy about them anymore. She maintains that since we no longer have an electric bill, it is not cost effective to spend money to reduce our consumption.

I have a hard time challenging that assumption with her, so I do them in tiny increments now.

Sorry for dragging out this old thread. I have all of my panels mounted and producing. (Finally). The array now totals 3500 watts. I also have the system back feeding the grid when the house isn't eating up all the power.

I have one more shut off to install that I need an electrician to do because the inspector wants it there. He also wanted the electrician to install the critical load sub panel which has already been done. Other than those two items it has otherwise been a DIY project.

After this last thing it will be time for the final inspection. Once that is done the power company will install a new meter so they can track my production and creit my account for it.

I can do more pictures if anyone is interested
