It's been awhile since I looked at the power usage of an xbox but for some reason I remember roughly 200W as being the number that the 360 and ps3 use. My new 32" lcd tv uses less then 60W so the game system will almost certainly use more then the display.

<edit> looks like closer to 180W http://www.hardcoreware.net/reviews/review-356-1.htm </edit>

Agreed. We had a thread about it a while back.

Hey - that would probably be a win-win situation!

My laptop uses about 50w or so when playing D2X-XL. The power supply is rated for 90w. So it should be possible to power it using a pedal generator.

Pat: if you're asking which is better, driving off the tire as I did, or hooking the motor/generator to a chain, the chain would be better (more efficient). But it's also more complicated to build/set up.

Mike: my laptop was about the same power usage. So I was able to watch videos on it while pedalling.

After reading much of this thread, and being a lazy person, I'm starting to think maybe,
'the best way 2 get free energy from the pedal power ', is to use my bicycle,
to ride down to the Alt-Energy store and buy a nice solar PV panel...

Happy Holidays!!

How can a solar panel help you look like a model?
