Dropped a shutter
I have been painting my house over the two weekends. Its a two story cedar house and was going good till I dropped a shutter and it broke in half because there was a bees nest behind it. A friend who is a local contractor told me I could have one manufactured but it would be expensive. Also I have checked many the local hardware store and have not found anything similar. Has anybody else had this problem before and how did they fix it? Have you ever consulted a contractor on Angie's List for something like this?

Maybe you can find someone local, perhaps through a "buy and sell" classified, who fixes and refinishes furniture, they often know tricks to repair articles that may seem beyond salvage. You may find someone who has expertise with "WEST System Epoxy", the epoxy is used to saturate portions of the wood that may have dry rot, giving it a new lease on life!
