Default exterior mineral wool insulation board

I'm about to add some sort of exterior finish to a portion of our house. Part of the area to be addressed is a concrete block wall rising ~ 8' from grade (house is slab on grade with a block 1st level, 2" x 6" wood frame construction above). Inboard of the block wall is 2" x 4" framing 24" o.c. with R20 fiberglass insulation and a vapour barrier behind drywall.

I'm considering rigid mineral wool insulation board on the exterior of the block wall and wondered if anyone had gone down this path and could offer advice. We haven't chosen between a hardie panel like siding or cedar yet.

Thanks,
