Default Wireless Doorbell Door Chime Kit With Two Receivers

Another post someone put in a solar powered door bell.

Cool project and it reminded me I have a door bell that has a transformer that runs 24X7. I have been trying to get rid of vampire loads and this is a good place to get rid of some.

I just put this one this weekend.

The one I got has two receivers. This worked out good because my office is a long way from the door. I could not always here the old one. I put one receiver by my office and the other went where the old bell was installed.

The old transformer was mounted in a plastic elect box in the wall. It was much hotter than I would have liked.

Not anymore it is not wired in anymore.

I love the solar one the other suggest and it looks like a fun project. At least I was able to get rid of the power sucking transformer every things counts.

This product has lots of choices of sounds and it is loud but you cannot control the volume. I knew this from reading the reviews and it is no big deal for me but I wanted to point it out in case that is something you care about.

It sure is affordable and a no fuss installation. I suspect the volume can be controlled by a hack of some sort , off hand I think of stuffing some insulation around its buzzer or speaker.
