Man with connections, Central WI
Howdy, I just joined over here after lurking on ecomodder for some time now I finally joined to put in my own logs and posts and then found this. And it was good. I'm Dave, an analytical Chemist by trade (chemistry and physics double major and now I burn dirt from polluted rivers) and keep my mind occupied by working part time at the local Lowe's home improvment store. I get to help people like y'all every day with their "this might sound crazy but here is what I am trying to do" projects.
My dad is a industrial electrician for neary 40 years and I have an engineer as a brother so almost nothing i come up with is really out of reach. Its good To be here and I look forward to helping out with the projects going around |

Hello and welcome to the site. Good to see a fellow Wisconsinite here.
Care to share with us some of the things you have done or would like to do with the home?

Unfortunately I am temporarily renting a duplex after having a house of about 6 years. But atleast working at Lowe's I can live vicariously through others and help those looking to save money and energy, and with my brother getting a new (old) home soon I'm sure I'll be tackling alot of modding. First project i am pondering is to build a blower door out of a sheet of plywood and a large furnace fan squirrel cage blower to basically leak detect the house for gaps and cracks etc. then attack with caulk, great stuff and a much needed blanket of blown in insulation to cover the minimal 4" up in the attic currently. Employee discount here we come...
