If you have been working for a few years and paid state + federal + FICA +
unemployment bucks have been going into the state,
then you should be able to collect some of that money back during hard times.
At least as much as you put into the system.. + interest..

I'm collecting SS checks, because I paid into SS starting in 1963..
I'm 66 and 95% retired, but I still pay fed&state taxes, FICA/SS & etc every time I earn a buck..
Or take a buck out of my IRA or 401K.
Heck I have to pay taxes on the lowly interest that I make on my savings account..

I have a problem with 50% of the population not paying any taxes at all..

I also have a problem with state 'workers' faking injuries and getting free cash for the rest of their life..

I think it would be a real good idea to pay rewards to people who ratted out the scammers..
gahhhhhhhhhhhh

In the USA, we have millions of Cows releasing greenhouse gases. But, no one here cares!!

In the UK, at least they are developing hardware to combat the problem!

If we let the cows eat the grass they have evolved to eat; rather than giving them major indigestion with corn and soy, then that would largely solve this particular problem.

This would also save a lot of greenhouse gases by not growing all that soy and corn and shipping it all over the world to feed to livestock. If we humans ate it directly, we could get by with growing just 1/20th as much (animals are poor converters of calories), and we would be a lot healthier, as well, by avoiding the antibiotics and growth hormones and the grass fed beef tastes better and is more healthy...

There you go again trying to control everyone else's life. Look, why don't you eat just corn and soy and not try to impose your tastes and religious views on everyone else.

The problem is that grass fed cows are usually small and skinny in relation to meat/farm cows. The meat tastes great but you don't get nearly as much.

Default cattle

Nice thing about Texas Long Horn cattle, you can use them for transportation,
after gasoline becomes unaffordable.. (That's next month, I think).

Dang, the best bicycle weather this year, and I get called back to work!!

Woburn March Weather 2012 - AccuWeather Forecast for MA 01801

Tomorrow is the third day of Spring.. The historical average is
48F high / 28F low. But, tomorrow it's going to be 87F with a low of 52F.

I'm going to stuck in the Lab all day, building RF test instruments!

On the bright side, I'll be able to afford to buy gas, to replace all the gas
I'm using to drive to work every day..

I guess one of the side-effects of global warming is higher fuel prices.
They say that high gas prices is the only way to force Americans to stop using so much oil.
(Since we only have 2% of the world's reserves, we must cut back).

The way that those high gas prices drive up the prices of EVERYTHING else,
I would say it's going to force Americans from using much of anything.

Once food prices double or triple, I'll be back in the Lab a lot more hours.
(Since my wife has this habit of cooking us food everyday).

Anyways, I have a plan for beating the side-effects. I'll start riding my bicycle to work!
