Hello everyone, I found this site by way of Ecomodder. Great site!
I do ALOT of remodeling (when I'm home). I'm currently working in Iraq as a contractor, so my projects are limited to the few weeks of vacation I'm at home. I bought a house 2 years ago, and since then have replaced the floors, completely gutted and remodeled the master bath and second bath. Painted, remodeled the kitchen, closed in a sunroom to make a fourth bedroom, and installed a pool with deck. 90% of those projects were completed by myself, with the other 10% I had help. Now that the inside of the house is the way my wife wants it...it's time to do the things I want, which is transitioning to alternative energy. Now you know why I'm excited to be here. I have been in the telecommunications industry for 16 years. I have no formal training in any of the trades of renovation, just ALOT of O.J.T. on the job training..LOL! If I can help in any way I will, just ask. |

Welcome to the site toyobug. What kind of alternative energy plans do you have for the house?

I'm looking into some kind of Solar water heating first. I'm also looking into installing some Solatubes for natural lighting. Eventually I would like to install some sort of
"grid-tie" system. Preferably a solar / wind combo. I wish I had found this site a couple years ago when I started my projects. BUt I'm here now, thats the important thing right. Thanks for the welcome. By the way; Love Ecomodder too |
