More free panels!!

People are giving away free PV systems!

Now that the leaves (leafs?) are mostly down, I can see some new PV...

Anyways, when the 'Free' solar people came to my house, I ran them off..
Told them that my wife didn't want an eyesore on our nice roof...

These were really noticeable when I looked out the back door..

A few months later, there's more! (to the right).

I don't know what size they are. I just know that street over there,
now has five houses with newly installed PV on their roofs.

I point to them and say to my wife, "those sure look nice", and she replies, "Baa Humbug"!

Gotta' love it. When seeking an agreement with my wife on a solar array, the only thing she demanded was that it not be mounted on our roof.

We'd seen an episode of "Living With Ed" and he was on the roof cleaning his panels. My wife {correctly} assumed I would want to go up and clean ours too. That would put me 17+ feet above ground level and I ain't getting any younger.

I wait until it's cool and just hit them with the water hose.. Or, let the rain take care of the cleaning..
Right now, it's pollen that builds up.. Easy to wash off with the hose.

Ed Beagley is a nut. Even with his flat roof, going up there with a ladder isn't safe for an old guy like him (and me).

My poor backyard panel location is working pretty good these days..
Getting lots of free Hotwater!!

I read the entire thread today about your ASHP HWH and enjoyed your "{IIRC} wild and meadering" thread. I turn 55 in a couple weeks, so the roof is no place for me.

Back in 2001 when I was 55, I was still climbing on roofs, radio towers etc..
It was part of my job. But, since I've retired I've only climbed up on my own roof
and my own Ham radio tower..

I would have installers do the PV, and keep them clean with the hose..
The only real problem I see is the *&%#@ snow piling up on them.
At least with my crappy back-yard Solar Farm I can broom off the snow..
