Power consumption of video gaming systems (wii, ps2, xbox 360)
Found this article on power consumption of gaming systems that are out right now. They give idle, standby, and in use measurements. I have to imagine the wii will draw a bit more than that depending on the game. In any case, the ps2 and xbox are hogs comparable to any modern gaming computer (which is veeery close to what they actually are).

Why would the wii's power consuption be lower than the others by a whole order of magnitude?

Probably because it's not a graphic intensive system.

The ps3 slim uses about half the power of the original 60b version (~100W), and a few of the newer larger versions use ~135W.
