All-electric house? i can't see how these dryers make sense unless natural gas isn't an option.

Also if you want to move away from some of the issues of natural gas.
As a home tinkerer, it's not as easy and safe to work with, nor have all the tools. Venting and air makeup can be tough details in eco building.
Condensing machines also need no venting, so placement is easy.

I got rid of the service simply because my local wants $26 a month just to send me a bill with no usage. That buys a lot of Kwh for a small home.

Maybe it's mostly in my head, but I feel a lot better without a fire based heating system compared to the minisplit which is pretty darn harmless inside. And it's a breeze to monitor and work with.
I do miss having the whole house HVAC as you could combine humidifier and high quality filtering with it.

We're getting hit with $30/mo service charge, but the gas is only 50 cents per therm. Once you pay the connection charge might as well have all appliances on NG. You're right though, the cost of the connection charges buys a lot of electricity to run minisplits/heat pumps.

Especially right now for most people as natural gas is becoming the primary generation fuel of electricity, and other sources are having to compete so there isn't a lot of price variance as cost increases are relative to both electric and nat gas direct use. (of course you have to factor how your regional players tinker with their prices/service charges)

It is nice though to have the instant volcano like heat in mass that you can only get from burning fuel

Further feedback on my original post.
The Bosch dryer suffers from a poor lint filter resulting in lint making its way into the heat exchanger and the dryer internals including the condensation sump.
This was easily fixed though by installing a washable filter material in the front lower portion of the hot/moist air return between the lint filter and heat exchanger.

This fall i was using my dehumidifier in the basement to dry my clothes on a rack. Just a few items were dried at any one time, but in a day most things were completely dry and the big thing..no stink (as in musty). Not sure how the lower temps this winter will factor in along with the dryer air...probably take longer.

We have 2 dryers and both are condensing.

However, the COP is only about 1.3
Scenario:
Regular electric dryers, vented inside thru furnace filters, only used in winter.
In the summer, we use about 100 feet of 5 parallel solar evaporative hangers, oriented to magnetic north.
The winter dryer output is into the basement which has a heat pump water heater (free from poco!). Thus, taking the warmer input air to the HP WH, the calculations show only about a 1.3 COP for the clothes dryers when HW usage is at a minimum <G>

No hot air blown outside, no vents to foul, etc.

Wow, that is one high-tech sounding clothesline! I can't believe I missed it.
