Hey All,
I've been a member for a while, but just now noticed that the board is suggesting I actually post something. So here goes! Love all the cool DIY stuff on here, and the scientific approach!

I'm more of a spurt-based project guy. For instance, my house was built in 1929, and I live in Michigan, so there are lots of opportunities to improve insulation. I've got a bunch of bags of cellulose in the basement and some baffles to staple to the attic rafters, but I think the cellulose has been hanging out for a year now, and I just picked up the baffles last week.

But this site has lots of cool stuff that encourages me to keep going, slow and steady wins the race!

Welcome. Where about in Michigan are you from? I'm also from MI, and living in a old drafty house. If it wasn't for my wood furnace i would freeze.

Thanks SimpleManLance! I'm in Lansing. I have a gas furnace, and actually now that I think of it, I added a whole house humidifier this winter, as well as looking up the details in my furnace installation manual to figure out how to turn the blower down a bit. The humidifier installation probably counts as a project, since it required a fair bit o research and purchasing various tools and accessories to make it all come together. Its noticably improved the dryness in my house, which makes the overall comfort level significantly better.
