Default Wrapping paper isn't recyclable

I wasn't quite sure it wasn't recyclable until I read this article. Good to know. I'll probably be trying out a few of the ideas below. There are many links inside the articles with many additional tips. I gotta say, some of the wrappings look pretty cool to me.

For years I have used the colorful pages from the Sunday newspaper comics. It worked well. Last year I dropped my subscription so instead I saved the packing paper from each gadget I ordered.

My wife laughs each time she catches me straightening and folding used packing paper.

I have read that used potato chip bags make great wrapping paper.

My wife and a group of her friends got together last year and made gift bags from an assortment of fabric scraps. The bags are very reusable and avoid the mess of wrapping paper.

FWIW,
Tim

I have a 2 year old that likes to color/draw/paint.... so I have a never ending supply of wrapping paper. We use new-old packs of dot matrix paper for most of the coloring. It was that or recycle it having never been opened.
