Default marathon thermal storage tank

Is anyone using a marathon thermal storage tank? Just wonder how you like it? Does it have internal heat exchanger or is a external one needed for closed look glycol system? Thanks Gary

I've looked at them. I think a few people here are using them. The only thing I don't like about them is the price...

They are more expensive but I'm looking at replacing my regular water heater which is 12 and thought maybe I should replace the tank of my solar domestic heater right away since the tank is 7 years old. If I go Marathon I would think it is pretty much a lifetime tank. This domestic system I had installed which is 2 4x 10 ft helodyne panels. Then 4 years ago I built my 12 x 40 ft system for heating.

I think this is a cutaway of the unit. Don't know if it helps. I know Richard here use (sells) them.

You have to be really careful with max temps from solar with this tank. It is not as high as a glass lined or SS tank.
