Home mailbox bomb warning
Bottle Bombs / Drano Bombs - Urban Legends
Drano bombs. Victim of Drano bomb. | Nic Van's Empower Network Blog One of these bombs when off in a mailbox directly across the street last night. It was LOUD and it shook the house. Luckily, it was a heavy steel mailbox and the only damage was a bent door.

I hope that this was a vandalism type incident, and not something more sinister.
I've read another online warning about 6 volt lanterns being converted into explosive devices, and left for people to "find". Sad. |

This might have been a one-time thing, but if they bombers were nearby,
they could help but hear the impressive blast. People living 400 yards up the street heard it. If they don't fear the police, they might keep on doing the same thing, just to spread a little terror in the neighborhood. I saw the stuff about people finding electronic devices (lights etc), and switching them on to see if they worked. That type of booby-trap is a little complicated compared to the bottle bomb. Which makes me suspect they would be very rare. But, since the bottle bomb is on YouTube and the components are in most kitchens, these things are going to be with us for years..
