You're a long ways from here but for other local buyers do they have CSA/UL/TUV approval stamps?

NRCan has/had them on the list of tested and approved panels since 2005 and that was all they needed at the time to qualify for EcoEnergy programs. Most of us have no use for CSA/UL as the market here is not big enough to afford to pay the CSA fees and the testing costs $50,000+. At the time, NRCan took the European test data (TUV, Frunhofer, etc) and approved it.

I haven't looked for a while but I think there are only 8 package systems CSA approved and maybe 30 panels CSA approved.

new permitted installs need to use approved panels is the reason I ask. I believe they are still accepting TUV as good enough. This has nothing to do with the solar rebates and is just a requirement of the building code now.

This is a Canada only thing at the moment.

When the rebates ended the testing dudes had no more customers. Exova is the lab leased by NRCan and I know the head guys there. They are looking at other business. The solar market in Canada is almost completely incentive driven........unfortunately

Twas always thus
