Default "shou sugi ban" for sidings?

Does anyone have opinion/experience with "shou sugi ban" (Japanese charred wood)? It's supposedly fire resistant and good for sidings.

I'm thinking of ordering from Nakamoto Forestry. Has anyone worked with that supplier?

Thanks!

They've been using showu sugi ban on their off-grid house. Its intriguing.
