I did the same during our last bathroom remodel. The tub was against an outside wall and runs cold in the winter. The old tub was cast iron and sucked all the heat out of the water. New tub is steel. Steel tubs can be louder unless you spray foam them. My kids take baths everynight and the water stays very warm for very long.
