I think my ref. high pressure lines will be 1/2" and low pressure lines will be 3/4" ?

What type copper? Should I do all sweat or is some flare ok?

The liquid line drier that you recomended is 3/8" flare, 30 in3 $22
I have found 2 at 41 in3. 1st one is 1/2" flare $18 & 2nd is 1/2" sweat $15

"Parallel both sides to get the correct capacitance" what do you mean?

You'll want to use either brazed connections or flares. Both are good for refrigeration work. How good are you with brazing?
The last drier should be OK if it's big enough to act as a receiver. Also note that a suction line drier and liquid line drier are not the same and are not interchangeable.

And 1/2" is a bit big for a liquid line. 3/8" is more usual for your size of HP

3/8 is indeed the most usual size in that tonnage range. But 1/2 will work.

The Mitsubishi compressor has LINE CONNECTION:1/2" X 3/4"SWEAT
The other parts are matching these sizes.

The discharge line is usually bigger than the liquid line. But it might be easier to just use 1/2" throughout. (Beware that HVAC 1/2" is not the same as plumbing 1/2"!)

Mikesolar, all 3 on LP so that is part of problems.

The Weil-McLain is working fine after much help from factory support, took some serious reprogramming & tweaking. But I don't like the aluminum HX.

My TT Solo works 99% in the current mode which is high fire only heating my 80 gal. Thermal Accumulator. E02 error after 3 tries to fire about once every few months.
I put a line cord on it into a mechanical timer which turns it off & on every 3 hrs.
which resets it. problem solved.
Running it as a modcon with ODR stinks.
It bounces off the bottom when mild outside, fireing frequently, as expected.
When doing this it makes loud foghorn noise AND gives E02 fail to fire errors frequently.

My 1st boiler, a HTP Voyager was a constant PITA, noisey blower which HTP is famous for + fail to fire every few months, finally threw it away after 10 yrs.

I assumed that the compressors input port was the 3/4 as I read that this is 100% vapor.
After compressing ref. to liquid, I assumed in was the 1/2"

So much for assuming.

The big connection is the suction line. The small connection is the discharge line. The liquid line is what goes from the condenser to the TXV, with the liquid line drier and sight glass (if used) in line.

BTW, NiHaoMike, how is your DIY ASHP water coming? Any efficiency data yet?
