Southern Maine Hello
Hi everyone, I'm signing on from York County, right near the NH border. I'm a new homeowner and a mechanical engineer (a dangerous combination if ever thare was one...)
I'm working on upgrading my house (a 1981 cape with a full basement on a couple of acres) bit by bit, doing the things that will return the most first, and on a cash-available basis. The thing that drew me to this place first, though, was AC's excellent heat pump thread, what a great job of thread-curating and archiving of science-based information! After I do the no-brainer upgrades (insulation and air-leak fixes), I plan to trench in about 3 tons worth of slinky coil and work on fitting a water:water heat pump. Thanks to all the people contributing here! |

Welcome! When you get done with your project, and tools, let me know. I want to perform a similar experiment up in "The County" with a yet to be acquired structure and parcel.
FWIW: Mech E isn't as "dangerous" as a Structural E in a house... I have Mech E's in my family. |
