Floor plan/layout software?

Hello all, I have been wanting to draw up floor plans for my house for use in remodeling and for basic reference. I'd like to have separate pages for each floor including dimensions, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC layouts. So far I have downloaded Google Sketchup and been playing around with it a little. Has anybody else used Sketchup for floor plans, or is there any other good free software out there for this purpose? I prefer not to go pencil and paper if I can avoid it
