POE oil?

I found this pdf pretty interesting..

Since I had read that any air at all would make POE oil quickly break down
and turn into harmful acids etc.

Last week, I found POE in the open air inside my broken down Sanyo.
It looked and felt like brand new mineral oil to me.

So, since my old system was breathing in very small amounts of air, (via a tiny pinhole)
during temperature changes, maybe the oil can be reused during testing??

Any of you guys know about POE oils? Are they really super sensitive to air?

I know there were a lot of HVAC folks who did not want to change to R410A,
is there a chance that POE oil's bad reputation comes from anti-R410A propaganda?

I think you're asking the wrong audience...

At EcoRenovator, we are the experts... frightening thought isn't it.

You should try some other HVAC blogs... let us know what you find out.

I've done some googling and all the old the bias against changing to R410A is still there.
And, if you do find more recent discussions, it seems like many people are still
referencing back to all the old industry & installer resistance to making the change.

Anyways, I've posted questions on a few HVAC (and related) forums and found
that many of the posters are just trolls, and people who will tell you to call your
local "Expert" HVAC guys and get an estimate.

In some places, it's like walking into a union shop and asking for their 'trade secrets'.
They seem to think, if you learn where the hidden reset button is,
that will mean some HVAC guy has to sent his kid to a state college..
