Default PV wire how many strands..

Going to use 12 AWG PV wire for making extensions. The JASolar panels have 12 AWG wire and it appears to have 65 strands. When looking to buy 12 AWG PV wire it has 7 strands. The panels use QC4.10 connectors.

I bought 10 pairs of connectors (QC4.10) and was wondering if there would be a problem with the crimping of the 7 strand wire.

What strand PV wire is everyone using to make extensions?

Thanks

Default

The chinese PV cable seems to be much finer stranded. Here in N.A. the southwire et al wire is usually 7 strand. As you're crimping a connector onto the wire there won't be any real difference. Installing with high strand count wire is easier tho. So flexible.
