Who's all going?

I'll probably drive down on Saturday, just for the day.

I'll be there all weekend.
I'll be part of the Living With Electric Vehicles work shop panel along with Ben asked if I could talk a bit about my electric motorcycle in his workshop and another friend asked if I could talk about electric cars in their workshop on maintaining cars.

You might also see me there with my electric motorcycle in the Alternative Transportation area or sitting in on one of the many workshops that are going on.

I'm also taking the early part of the week off from work to help with set up, it's a great time.

I'll probably only be there one day also. I wanted to bring my electric gator but don't think I can get away for more then a day.

Bring it for the day then, the vehicle area is looking a bit sparse and home built projects always draw a lot of attention!
You'll also get two weekend passes if you bring the Gator to show.

Even dropping the Gator off Thursday and picking it up Sunday evening... stuff like that has been very popular in the past.

Nothing really new, solar keep getting cheaper, little things are changing that make installing renewable energy systems cheaper so they are more and more common, for example a friend of mine said that Milwaukee WI installed 6 systems last year on homes, this year it's going to be over 20!

Some awesome vehicles were there, the only Honda Accord PluginHybrid that is not in CA or NY, a Nissan Leaf, bunch of Volts, a Mitsubishi i-MiEV that I introduced my self to the driver then asked if I could take his car for a test drive... of course he said yes! and Ben and I went on a short EV motorcycle ride.

It was definitely a good show. It was fun talking to the insulation/air sealing vendors about my house projects, talking to the guys in the car section about their projects and my electric car plans. The workshops were a bit different this year, I've done tons of research on solar heating, PV, wind power, minimalist kwh use, insulation, etc in so many places to where I didn't feel I learned too much from many of the workshops because of having a fairly extensive background of prior learning and experience but either way networking with people, sharing knowledge, and asking questions is a huge reason of why I like going to this sort of show.

An example, I really got people thinking about staying away from whole house attic fans or at least planning to insulate/air seal them well outside of the cooling season and being sure there is enough attic exhaust ventilation available if someone really wants one. IMHO they don't make sense where I am since our dew points are too high overnight when the days are actually hot enough to use the air conditioning anyway so you can bring in some humid air and feel muggy the next day, rot the house, or best case you'll have a hot day the next day and run the air longer anyway to remove all that moisture/latent energy and not really save much.
