Sadly, in many areas of Colorado, water use rights trump even collecting water from your rooftop. In general, water use rights are not conveyed to a new owner, unless a transfer of 40 acres or more is done. Thus the number of 39.5 acre parcels listed for sale,

I am aware of a person that raises llamas (three to be specific). The offending beasts were seen drinking out of a stream and now (gasp!), the owners were fined for abusing the documented water rights.

Now you may ask, just how much water does a llama drink compared to daily evaporation in that section of stream? Ahh, evaporation is included in case law and you can't argue that point.

Furthermore, even collecting the rainfall from your roof (if you don't have water rights) can and has been subject to lawsuits from the downstream water right holders.

Now, what happens if you pee in the stream?

Not being able to collect the water off your roof is obscene , I would argue until it hits the ground it is not in the water table and not able to be controlled by those with water rights.

I get a sense of fear mongering from the law enforcement who enforce these laws.

Is it rain rights they are really after ? the rain is for sale if that's the case, Step right up bring your money and buy the RAIN rights to the country.. I am astonished at the idiocy of government employees and elected officials , its criminal and disgusting... next will be the air ! If the countrymen are so disconnected to their loss of freedom and rain water that the air they breath will be next or sure COULD be with the current direction of the country.

But look at the number of people that do not consider climate change an issue. That is air and along with it, are changes in rainfall patterns.

The Colorado law is VERY old and dates back almost 150 years. It was there to protect farmers that needed water to irrigate.

One more outdated law that needs addressing at the very least

That law is being abused by the riches of rich, they turned it into a for profit business instead of watering the crops for feeding the nation. What scam its the opposite of why the law was put in place !

Cooling solar panels is very important. It increases the power production of your solar panels. If you try to cool your solar panels with water for a purpose you might see some gain but its more water usage per day. The other option for cooling solar panels is try spraying a hose on my roof panels on a hot day.

I've seen in more places than one that spraying water on hot glass is a way to potentially shatter your modules. Differential rapid cooling can be bad news to glass. Also keep in mind that you're more likely to leave hard water deposits on the glass too. Don't forget that those modules will get hot again very quickly, it's not like you would spray them down once and walk away with some gain. It could take quite a bit of water over a long period of time to make a true difference. IMHO not worth it.
