Default Really good online magazine - Home Power

I recently got an online subscription (not printed edition) to Home Power Magazine. I have to say, it is so worth the tiny subscription fee ($10/year). The online subscription gives you access to all their back articles online. They have articles on tons of stuff: solar hot water, pv, microhydro, building/design, electric vehicles, and just general home efficiency. If anyone is looking for a wealth of info on renewable energy and home power in general this is a great way to go IMO.

I have been subscribing to the printed version for a long time now (since issue 10).

I'm happy with the subscription I won (thanks again, ER). I have access to issues from the last 3 years and I just don't have enough time to read it all. What I like about HP is that it's not about "Big RE" (mutli-MW installations), it's about ordinary people with small set-ups. It shows how their system was installed, how much each element cost, and how it's working a few months or years later. When we finally find a place in the boonies, I'll considering buying all the back issues on DVD. The price is really a bargain for all that info!

I just got my own subscription to home power, it's not hard to get a $10-15 subscription for your first year to get a paper copy.
You can also get a CD rom of every back issue, or you can have parents like mine who have every issue.
I've hung out with some of the people who write for home power and they are really in to what they write about and always working to learn more and stay on top of the newest stuff.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm subscribing today, and I don't mind not having dead trees dried, printed and shipped to me.

Just wanted to mention this again. I recently read an article which referenced some other pretty old HomePower articles. I did not have access to these online (which I thought I did). However, I simply emailed them asking if I could get copies of these articles and they emailed me the PDFs to me about a week later. They didn't request any payment, they just sent them. I am very pleased with the customer service.
