I added 500 red worms today to my grow beds.

My first batch of worms did not make in the mail. I think our heat wave got them. They reshipped and these worms made it in good shape. They guaranteed them to be alive when you get them.

These will go into the bed eat extra solids and reproduce help keep the roots in good shape.

Worms reproduce fast and will self-regulate their population. If there are more solids for them to eat they will reproduce more to take care of it. (up to a point anyway)

My new chiller worked two hours and quit. It acted like a fuse was blown but fuse is good.
The power led does not even come on now. The guy is giving me a refund but he said to just keep the nonworking chiller. I will have to take it apart at some point.

Now you can turn it into a heater. Or if you are lucky, it might have a blown micro fuse or another bad power supply component.

It could easily be a power supply.
What would I have to do to it to turn it into a heater?

Now that I have had all my fish about 11 days the plants are really taking off. This is the kind of growth I was hoping for. You can look at them in the morning and see growth at the end of the day. No weeding at all and no bending over or getting on your knees to work on the plants.

So far we have just used rain water to start and keep the system running. I have close to a 1000 gallons waiting to be used. Our water is not cheap and our old raised beds used a lot of water. It is nice to not having that expense.

Tap into the refrigerant plumbing with access ports. The common home size is the same as quarter inch flares. I use flare nuts and valve depressor inserts on the ends that go to the machine or rubber gauge hoses if it needs to be flexible. Disable the fan on the air exchanger and the gas will find its way to the coldest point to condense.

Or, you can put in a reversing valve and have no extra plumbing outside the box.

I will start a new post if I attempt this. For now I will just look at a repairing it.
I would have a fair amount to learn to do the conversion and I have lots of projects left to do for the summer.
