Default small grid tied inverter

Hi,

I couldn't found a US version of these inverters, so this is FYI.

I just found this <1kWp grid tied inverter : mastervolt soladin 600
Soladin 600 | Mastervolt. The world‘s leading brand in maritime, mobile and solar energy solutions.

It doesn't need anything else : you plug it to the PV string at one side and to the grid at the other side.

It accept from 160 to 700W and generates up to 600W.

There is several versions as not all countries have same network parameters, but the NL version is the non-UK, non-Spain, European version.

Several blogs/webs are talking about it, per example : Home Alternative Technology: Soladin 600 Grid Tie Inverter

It's sold 530 € (674 $). It seams it's proposed in several diy kits, noticeably in UK. Some sites talk about a 120W version and a wind version called windmaster 500, but I couldn't found them on their web site.

This inverter interests me as I would like to be able to "nullify" my constant consumption which is in the low 500-650W.

A 5x100W PV + inverter kit is around 3000 € (3800 $). If my calc is OK, it should produce 520 kWh/yr near Toulouse and save 58 €/yr. Of course, such a project isn't to save money, but to save CO2 and nuclear wastes as the pay back is 52 years.

A 400W wind turbine + inverter kit is around 1100 € (1400 $). I can't say how much kWh/yr it should produce by here, but it has the advantage to be night and day.

Denis.

An interesting page about small inverters : Photovoltaic panels in the Netherlands - inverters

The rest of the site is also interesting for DIYers : Photovoltaic solar PV panels in The Netherlands
