Default No luck

Used the impact driver (which can drive long deck screws), twice with no movement.
Then went CW for 0.5 second and went back CCW twice more for 3 to 4 seconds each time.
(Checking for damage between every try).

Got some wear on the 5MM and some brass or bronze dust on the tool.. But no luck..

The only thing I can think of doing now, is use a hair dryer on the fitting
and bring it up to 120 F (to expand the outer casing?) and give it another shot with the driver..

I'm going to be calling Gree support pretty soon..

Yep , best to contact them & not to " Cowboy " it to the point where they will not warranty it .

Bummer , you are all dressed up & no place to go . :-(

How long did it take for them to ship the first ODU ?

Sounds like who ever closed the valve off did get " Cowboy " with it . Or it is just defective .

Best of luck , my friend .

God bless

I would call Ductless HVAC Systems & Indoor Air Quality on ComfortUp first to see if they can help.
Since it seems to be DOA they might help you. They also might help because you have Credit card charge back protection and they know this.

It's going to be here soon. Tomorrow if things go well..

This is going to be a quick & easy install (I hope), since the new unit will be replacing one of the old Sanyo 24k systems.
So, the base site is already in place, wiring done and holes drilled..

I have not gone over the installation manual in any detail.
Been busy with other stuff.. Just got a 2014 Rav4 AWD and studied for and passed the EPA Section 608 Type I 'Open Book' Certification.
https://www.epatest.com/608/
Maybe that will help speed things along..

Funny thing, I noticed my Gree dealer put a new video on Youtube today..
https://youtu.be/PIq4IvASvpk

I wonder if that's my order??

You guys that have installed Gree units, do you have any tips for me?
I wonder how much did you pay for yout MSHP, I bought a LG from this company a few months ago and I was so happy with their service.

The cost was $2,142.34 shipped. I've seen the Daikin specs on that 18k unit,
and the low temperature performance is about the same as the old 2009 Sanyo units that I'm replacing.
"Low ambient cooling to 5°F / -4°F with optional drain pan heater"..
This Crown Gree comes standard with a drain pan heater, and will work down to -20F..
At least that's the spec..

Yes I am in Southern CA so I don't need that low temp on the MS. Were you able to get the valve open? I wish you a great installation, I don't know if you have seen that installed 2 MS myself and also the first one by a technician. I am in love with these machines I can't wait for winter to test them out.

Uggh - this leaves me with a rather bad impression of this unit. First the problem with set up instructions, then the bad flares and now the value.

Three strikes and you are out?

Maybe customer service will come through and all will be resolved quickly . . . .

Hang in there Rich!

I have never seen good Chinese instructions is there such a thing. They don't want home owners doing the install so maybe this is by design.

Gree does not make the line set and that is easily fixed.

But a valve stuck is a big issue. Hopefully they will be able to get you taken care of.

Maybe, if you are lucky, the mfr or distributor might send you another new outdoor unit. Then you would have two! Sound familiar? Hey, at least you're not having to pay for two service calls....

I'd like to believe this doesn't happen all the time, but I know better. It happens every day somewhere.
