Was wondering about your line size, and what brand and type of pump, guessing near brand new 2 stage with new oil ?
Otherwise, suspect mis-calibrated gage.

Brand new vacuum pump with new oil, I did not use hoses as you can see I just bought some copper line from Lowes and I did my lines.

Well, it has been 90 days since I completed the project and these LG splits are running great. When vacuum testing, I did exactly what Pelotin did and used copper lines. Most of the gauge set lines are not made to vacuum that low. You have to buy special hoses. And use Nylog like Pelotin has in the photos. With new oil in the pump you can get it down to 5o microns. I have not had any issues and would encourage anyone wanting to reduce energy costs to kick the central air and convert to mini splits. DYI is pretty easy so long as you study up on how to do it. Pay particular attention to the length of your line sets in comparison to the precharged refrigerant in your units. If you run too long of line sets you will need to add. Too short they recommend you remove. To do either you gotta have the right equipment or call the service guy.

Me too, it's been four months and the LG mshp is working perfectly, I wish I could install another one but my wife does not want me to have the house full of things hanging in the walls.

After my wife experienced how well the mini splits work and how cheaply they ran she was ready for me to install more.

I now have one in each of my three bedrooms. One in the living room and one the covers the kitchen.

After they are up for a while you really don't even really notice them that much.

All completely covered by solar power. I have not run my gas heat for over 2 years the same with my 4 ton AC.
