Default New England Ground Temperatures

Hi folks,

Looking for ground temperatures for sizing heat extraction field in Southern Maine/Southern NH.

I have searched pretty extensively, and I am sure the information is out there somewhere, but my google-fu is weak, it seems.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I would rather not have to embark on a year-long soil monitoring odyssey...

Thanks, hikerjohnson

I'm no expert, but that sounds too low to me. I thought it was about 54F below 5 feet?

I'm inclined to agree with you, and it just occured to me that I have a shallow well, about 20 feet deep - I can just take the temp of my incoming water, that should tell me what the ground temp is for all practical purposes!
