December usage-

I used 604 kwh for 34 days. That's 17.76 kwh/day, 61.6% less than the same month last year. My 12 month average usage went down to 28.06 kwh/day.

I've been averaging 33.76 mpg in my car for the last 90 days.

Just got my January bill.

I used 580 kwh for 31 days. That's 18.71 kwh/day, 70.4% less than the same month last year. My 12 month average usage went down to 24.36 kwh/day.

I've been averaging 34.44 mpg in my car for the last 90 days, and I've been riding my bike around town more too.

Any idea how much you have spent compared to how much you have saved?

About ten years back I spent a bit of time in Corvalis, it's a nice place, one of the friends I had there never bothered turning on their heat in the winter and their appartment never seemed that cold.
You might think about insulating your water pipes as well, at least the short bits that are closest to the water heater.
The shrinking window film is great stuff, so is the seal and peal calk.
It's really to bad that no one seems to make a timer that fits in to a braker box for water heaters.

I'm pretty sure that I've made back all of the money I've spent. I think I'll end up saving about $600 on electricity this year compared to last. I probably only spent about $100-$150. Most of the savings I think is from deciding to use less electricity; I'm not sure how much of it is from the improvements I've made.

I got my February bill. I used 649 kwh for 31 days. That's 20.94 kwh/day, 56% less than the same month last year. My 12 month average usage went down to 21.87 kwh/day. On the 3.5 days per week that I don't have my daughter I almost never turn my heat on. Indoor temps have been in the mid to low 50's. I'm really looking forward to warmer months when I don't have to use my heat at all.

I've been averaging 34.87 mpg in my car for the last 90 days. I've been riding my bike to work quite a bit too, so my gas usage is really down.

March bill just came in. I used 630 kwh for 29 days. That's 21.72 kwh/day, 50% less than the same month last year. Not bad considering the average daily temperature was 6 degrees colder this year. My 12 month average usage went down to 20.04 kwh/day. It seems my electrical usage has been creeping up a little bit each month for the past few months. It's really not a lot, but I'd like to see it going the other direction.

I've been averaging 34.5 mpg in my car for the last 90 days. Still riding my bike to work, but not as much due to all the rain. My goal for 2011 is to do 10% of my commuting by bike. I'm currently at 13%, so that's good.

Still sounds like you're really on the right track. During winter power usage is always higher due to increased demands on heating, lighting and just being inside more. I suppect your energy use will drop a lot in summer.
