I was on the Volt forum and I saw this quote.
people was asking what kind of range they were still getting.

“2012 Volt with 106,000 miles 99.9% EV. I see no change from 5 years ago when it had 5 miles on the odometer.”

This is great to see.

Changing to a different tire than stock is the biggest range reduction.
I saw some range reduction when I changed to a Michelin tires.

Default Bridgestone tire

The 2012 Nissan Leaf we used to have came out with ;

Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 (H- or V-Speed Rated)

I replaced them with P205/60R16 version of the same tire . The miles per charge came down . The miles per charge was slowly coming back uf as the tires broke in . Then the Leaf was rear ended & totaled .

I have read the miles per charge is greatest when the tire is just about worn out ( the rubber is thinner & has les " flex " ? ) & drops when new tires are installed .

Your guess is as good as mine ?

God bless
Wyr

I posted about my Volt one year ago.

One year later total miles 24,191

EV miles for one year 17,230

Dino miles one year 6,961

That is a good amount of solar powered EV miles for one year.
Total EV miles so far is 65,270 driving on the sun. (lifetime)

This is from the new My Chevy app

Great to hear you getting ~ 78% of your driving on solar!

I had to chuckle at the comment on poorer tire mileage than expected. I put a set of Continentals on our pickup truck and they lasted barely over 20k miles. Rotated at every oil change, which meant every 5k miles or one year, whichever came first.

There may as well not be a mileage expectation displayed on the tire tag at Walmart because they wouldn't do anything at all about the poor lifetime tread wear. They couldn't blame it on alignment either as the wore very evenly. OTOH, they were 8 years old.....

We had higher solar % but my oldest son runs track and has practice 5 days a week.
That makes 3 39 mile trips a day. And the last trip I don’t have time to charge back up so we have to use gas.

These are Michelin tires but the volt is a front wheel tires wear on outside front so they probably will not do anything but I will try it and see what they say.
I got mine a tire kingdom not sure if they are any better than Walmart.

It is funny I am looking at buying a car for my sons first car it is 21 years old Saturn SC2 and it has 85K miles on it.
Our Volt is a 2013 and has that many miles on it. Most of the miles are from taking our kids to school.

I went out to Volt Stats today all this data is straight from OnStar and you can no modify it.
There is one Volt with 372K total miles 129K EV miles.
I found this interesting as many people told me my batteries would not last any time.

I just noticed my car was not in the image above.

The car you are looking at is a Gen2 volt I own a Gen1 volt. They did a complete redesign.
Gen1 has been a great car.

The Volt forum has lots of Gen2 owners it might be worth a quick look.

Generation 2 Volt (2016-2020))

Don’t forget to compare to a new one with tax breaks and any rebates.
