Default Civic or Corolla?

So we're buying a new car to replace my wife's 2000 Acura. We've narrowed it down to the Honda Civic DX or the Toyota Corolla S. We really liked both but now we're at a stand still. Right now the Honda deal is 0% interest over 5 years. The Toyota deal is 2.9% over 6 years plus some other cash back rebates which come close to $1000. Also, the Toyota sales guy is my neighbor, so I feel a bit of loyalty to him and I think he'll give me the best deal he can. Although the Honda guy said that when we're ready to buy, he's ready to sweeten the deal.

So ya...it's ultimately my wife's decision but we both have the same feelings towards both cars.

Does anyone have any input or comments? Please feel free if you do.

I think either of those cars are excellent choices. I'd also look at the Focus though. Ford has been putting out some good vehicles in the past few years.

I'd also wait another year if at all possible. There are a lot of models coming out in the next year, including a lot of smaller cars and a brand-new (to us) Focus.

I would recommend the Civic since it set a world record MPG.
