Possible conversion Steiner to electric
I have under consideration conversion of a Steiner garden tractor from ice to electric. This is a 20 HP hydrostatic tractor--hydraulic pump to hydraulic motors through differentials to front and rear wheels. Has this been done by others and what are the thoughts as to the feasibility?

Its been done, but probably not by a ton of people. Here is what I could find that is somewhat similar:
Steve Heckeroth's Yanmar Tractor Conversion Ellery Deuville's Masey 135 Tractor That should give you an idea of where to start. Also, welcome to the site!

I've seen site with lawn tractors that are hydro. Only downfall is motor runs more since you need to have hydro powered all the time so shorter run time. Good thing is most who do them don't use a controller since motor just runs at one speed determined by your voltage, so cheaper conversion.
Good luck Gary
