The temp here is going down now.. It's 7.7 deg F
and that caused the Sanyo (was running @ 10F) to go from 480W to 1.2KW just now...

Yes we are getting unseasonably warm here. I don't like it when the snow gets soft. Makes it stick to everything. Better cold and dry or just get on with the melt and have it over. I feel more comfortable with -15C or 5 than -5C or 23. Once you get close to freezing the humidity just cuts through me. I can dress for the cold and dry. We get that regularly here and we are ready for it. Much tougher for you there as you don't get this weather normally and have no need to be ready for it for the most part. We were in Louisville last month when they got a small snow that would've just seemed like a normal winter day to me and it pretty much shut down the city. We ate at the local Bob Evans the day after and enjoyed the place to ourselves for 2 meals. Then the locals began showing up again.

Like I said, it's unusual for them so they do the best thing to do in such cases and just stay home and wait for it to get better.

Sorry to hear you've got a breakdown. Not fun when the weather gets cold and your hardware has trouble keeping up. I can't imagine the rime icing, we hardly get any when it's as cold as you are as the humidity usually is so low.

I didn't hear her say how long they've been tracking record low 'high' daily temps.. But it was still pretty funny..


In Woburn, today: +11.1°F was the high, and -11.0°F was the low..

Is something 0.1°F out of calibration?

We had deep snow last year. But it was DRY and lighter than normal..
So, it was okay to deal with.. Just hard to throw, if there was any wind, it would just blow-back into your face.. And under the hood of your parka.

It wasn't as cold last night..


At 6:30 AM, it got down to -3.5°F
Which is still pretty cold, to a Texas boy..
