Default Cyclean, The pedal powered washing machine!

I admit, I giggled a bit when I first read it. But, its really not a bad idea. I wonder how long you have to pedal for? Unfortunately, there isn't a whole lot of info on the site.

A typical European washing machine uses 0.75-1.25kWh per cycle, while a human can put out 150W(?) constantly. So something like 5-8 hours. I think the best thing to do is to make a DIY bike-generator and feed power into you house's grid while the wash is on.

BTW: I wonder what gear gets 1200rpm during the spin cycle?

If it's direct drive then I would think you would have to pedal until your cloths were clean.
