This looked interesting so I signed up for a consultation since I would probably meet all their requirements.
But I just got an email back saying that it's not available in my area.

I just received a call from Solar City. They told me they are only servicing the Dallas and Fort Worth areas of Texas.

Astrum Solar is another installer that is here in Massachusetts, that has a variety of ways to pay for an installation -- including $0 down leases. In fact I think you end up pay less monthly than you do now for electricity.

Both my nephews now work for Astrum, and they are hiring; here and in several otehr areas of the country.

Yes, but not right away. I need new roof shingles, and there are already 2 (or more) layers. I have a hip roof, and I need more insulation, so I will hopefully be able to completely reframe the roof in a steeper gable with a gable dormer, I can get a larger south-facing roof for more panels, and super insulate the entire roof, and gain a full walk-up stair to a much more useable attic space; as well as a new roof.

Now, I am exploring what sort of roof I should use: green plants, metal, or asphalt. A metal roof could have laminated PV solar, and it could have solar hot water tubes underneath it, and it could have a rain water collection system, too. A green roof would be great, but I'm not sure how it would work with PV panels.
