Default new photosynthetic technology

Hi gang,
My wife emailed me this article which could be a significant game changer in harnessing energy. I say "could be" because we never know the down side of many studies. Many schools get funding on non-peer reviewed work so I hope this isn't just another P-hack.

The significance is that it converts the suns energy directly into high density fuel as opposed to photo voltaic cells that convert the suns energy into electric power that has to be stored or immediately utilized.

This work was funded by the DOE (dept. of Energy) and the NSF (National Science Foundation).

The article does sound professional and promising. I honestly do hope this is not just some research fluke, and that the research does not get kneecapped by the energy industry.

No, but sometimes these things take time to fully materialize. I remember reading about PV module breakthroughs that we didn't see for 5 or more years. Let's hope this one will do that.
