WindPax portable, collapsible wind turbines take a turn at off grid power
Here is a pretty cool deal. Its just a small portable vertical axis wind turbine for charging up little stuff. Its collapsible so you can move it around. It would be cool for camping or something. WindPax portable, collapsible wind turbines take a turn at off grid power Quote:

They're a kickstarter project, so they don't have funding or products available yet.

4 lbs? In a backpack? Ouch.
Planning a 170 mile trip this fall (Tahoe Rim Trail). I'm an old fart, measuring every OUNCE going into my pack. Got no room for something measured in pounds Maybe for car camping! Pat |

It would be good for Camp , I agree its much to heavy for me and my weight pinching back packing/ hiking. Not as young as or Naive as I used to be ,when I was heading out on 2 week hikes with 60lbs of energy sapping weight.
