Cool! I heard the TDI's get better mileage than a hybrid.

Correct answer is "It depends" if you do highway, TDI, in town, hybrid.
That said, not any 50 mpg hybrids will tow the 2000+ lbs that I regularly tow, so it is the only choice for me.

Still kicking, I am almost done with the tdi swap (oh man is it great).

I found a dead easy pump head calculator that others might find of use.
Here. Aquatic Eco-Systems - Head Loss Calculator for Pump Selection there are certainly more advanced ones, but man is this easy.

This is great, because the javascript is internal to the page, so with a wee bit of tweaking, the page can be saved without the ads, etc. onto your local computer.

Very useful if you do this kind of thing on a regular basis.
