I cleaned out my front grow bed. That was a pain I need to add a radial flow filter back into the system.
I had gloves on but my hands are still sore from the big job. Check out this tomato root ball. It was loaded with worms. Crazy looking
The bed looks so empty.

The bed had been running nonstop. Those tomato plants were over a year old and still producing tomatoes lots of them.

The water was not flowing away from the end without drain. That end of the bed gets more solids.
I took out about 60 gallons of rock. I piped the beds water flow out of the bed away from the sump tank and out the vent window.

I used a hose with a good sprayer to wash the rock in the bed I took a 5 gallon bucket and would bale out the dirty water.

It was a lot of work but all rock got a very good wash down.
Three is a bunch of worms in that bed but I am sure I need to add a filter back into this system

My greenhouse web monitoring has been great. I can view it on my phone over 4G cell phone network.

I have one sensor that shows my greenhouse temp. At the hottest part of the day it would show 31 degrees or a low temp that would set off low temp alarm. Then it would go back to like today 80 degrees.

I have another sensor to replace this sensor. So I went out to do that today it had alarmed 3 times.

Come to find out when I went to take the two wires one was not screwed down it was just stuffed in there. So issue solved I now have both leads screwed down and it is working good again.

My wife did some research for salt tolerant strawberries we bought three different kinds.
Hopefully they will do better. My other strawberries were doing good but when I salted for health of my fish. This killed my strawberries.

The strawberries are planted and starting to wake up. These types are said to be more salt tolerant.
We got three different types to see which one do better.

Camarosa
Buy Camarosa Strawberry Plants - Sakuma Sakuma Bros. Online Store

San Andreas
Buy San Andreas Strawberry Plants - Sakuma Bros. Online Store

Albion
Albion Strawberry Plants - US Berry Plants Online Store

We bought then from USberryPlants
My wife did some research looking for a more salt tolerant berry hopefully these will work good.

I think I am going to screen my vents this summer. The wasps have discovered the greenhouse more this spring. I am thinking about stapling the screen at the top that using Velcro on the sides and bottom.
This will give me access to my auto vent openers. I will not have it screened tight to let the vent work their magic.

I am concerned about reducing air flow. I am thinking about adding an oscillating fan. I have enough extra solar power to run the fan and this would keep no mildew on the plants closest to the barrels.

I would probably just run it during the day.

Can you make a little box with screen and put it around the vents? I wouldn't think the screen would affect the air flow much. Not if there's a good solar driven air pressure.

I never get bees in the greenhouse so I do self-pollination with a toothbrush

I put a q tip on the end of mine.

I am going to try one with putting the screen on the outside and just cutting a slit in the screen for the opener.
It is already tight to walk in front grow bed. If I can help it I don’t want to make it even harder to walk up there.
I just ordered a fan for the greenhouse
MaxxAir 18" High Velocity Wall Mount Fan $54.88

We added some spinach.
